Another long overdue update!

Hello LJ! Remember me? It's been way too long since I've posted, so I thought why not?

Well, the weather here has turned cold and even ssnowy! It's winter in Wisconsin! I experienced it last night when I attended the Zilber Hospice Thanksgiving Potluck. Some people didn't even make it there, due to the icy roads. I was worried about my van transportation, but I lucked out. But, they had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner with just about anything you could want. And that was before the dessert table! Yum yum! I even won a door prize which was a Department 56 Christmas Village. So, it was a good night all the way around.

On Sunday, voyagerjc and I attended the Badger Association's Packer party. What a game! I don't think the Bears knew they were playing football! Hehaha! Plus, the great dinner from Pizza Hut was yummy yummy!

But, my biggest news came today. Thanks to connections from friends of my parents, I was able to meet with the Chief Executive Officer of Saint Camillus which is a senior living complex in Milwaukee. They offer everything from a nursing home to independent living. When this man heard about me, he wanted to meet me to see if there could be a chance that I could be employed there. He also is in touch with other CEOs who might be interested in looking at my resume. Well, I met this person today, and I really like him. He said that they are looking at starting up a hospice program possibly in January. He said that he could see me in the role of Volunteer Coordinator, or Bereavement Coordinator, based on my qualifications. So, I could be looking at a fulltime job next year! Who knows? But, you've got to keep hope alive no matter what!

Well, that's all the news I have for now. Catch you later!

finally another update!

Hello LJ!

Do you remember me? It has been a long time since we've hung out together! Hasn't it?

Well, this is the weekend I dread, as summer is just about over once we hit Labor Day. I'm not looking forward to fall and winter, but they are inevitable! But, this has been a great summer to be sure.

Later, I will be writing about one of the high lights of summer, which happened to be last week. It is quite an involved bus story, which I need more time to put together. But for now, I wish all of you a Happy Labor Day Weekend, and I hope you enjoy it!

A Voice Post of Many Voices!

“In this particular voice post, punster1, ckrassman, and somebody else, all ramble about food, apologize for not updating their LJ’s more regularly, and they’re all practically speaking at once! It is hard at times to make out what each person is saying, as it’s as if they’re like in a big crowd of people, who are all trying to say the same thing. But then, in the end, they realize, these 3 main people anyway, realize that it’s been practically a year since they started their LJ accounts, and so, punster1 bursts into song, singing Happy Birthday, and not long after he does that, the voice post gets cut off!”

Just saying hi!

Hello LJ Friends,

Again, it has been so long tsince I did an actual post, I said to myself, "No bed until this gets done!" So, here I am!

I think right now, I am reflecting on how my LJ Friends use LJ. Forsome of you, and you know who you are, LJ is your outlet. For you, it's only natural to write down all the latest goings on in your life, and sharing your feelings, running from joy to depression. On the other hand, there are my other LJ Friends who are like me. We blog once in a while, but aren't necessarily glued to LJ. Or to put it more precisely, we don't think of LJ as our outlet to discuss our lives on a regular basis. I'm not saying that there is anything good or bad in either approach, but this is my thoughts.

As for me, I want or need to find a middle ground. I can't see myself writing in this thing daily, but on the other hand, it is pointless to have a blog if I don't keep it up more regularly than I have been.

So, if anyone has thoughts on this, don't be afraid to respond. I'm curious to see what you have to say. Mainly, are you using LJ as little or as much as you thought you would when you got started, or are you like me and do you think you need to change your LJ habits in one way or another? Hmmmm!

It's been too long!

Hello all! Let me say that it's been too long since I've posted, or done anything LJ related! It seems like I've been caught up in other things, not to mention trying to keep my sleep schedule on a regular pattern. As a result, time has flown by, and I've realized that it has been too long since I've posted. Sorry about that. I hope all my LJ Friends are doing well, and getting ready for some warmer weather.

So, although I will do a longer post later this week, and I most definitely will, as of right now, I just want to say hello to all of you. I also want to welcome masterofmusings to my friends list. It's good to have the "Chicken and Ketchup Boy" on board! I should pop open a Coke and celebrate!

Well, this is all I have for now, but I'll type to you all later! I promise!

Time to update!

Hello LJ,

It's been ages, but I thought that I should definitely come in here and post. There isn't too much to say, but I thought I'd let everyone know that I'm still alive.

Lately, I've been dealing with some minor health concerns. I had a wapper of a cold recently, as you may remember from my voice post. Because of it, I chose to temporarily stop my hospice visits until just two days ago, so I wouldn't run the risk of spreading germs to the patients I visit. But, more frustrating than the cold is my sleep schedule. Lately, I just can't sleep through the night, and I'm always tired in the middle of the day. I just started up on my CPAP again for Sleep Apnia. I hadn't used it in a while, but now, I'm back on it. I just thought it would stop me from waking up at 4:00 every morning, but no luck! I even take Melatonin, but that hasn't helped much either. So, I'll keep you posted. But, the good news is that I went to the Dietician this week, and lost Two LBS. Yay!

In other news, I'm still waiting for my job posibility to come through. The latest is that they say that they will hire me once business picks up. So, although I'm thinking that this will happen, I'm still looking at other posibilities.

And, although I usually don't want to bore my friends with my radio obcession, I do feel it necessary to comment on some sad Milwaukee Radio news. While these are business decisions that make financial sense, the decisions are very hard emotionally. Both this week and next, an AM and FM station in our market will be changing owners and formats. These two stations are owned by Salem Communications, which runns Christian Radio Stations. The AM station is AM 540 WRRD The Word which is a Christian talk and ministry station. This week, a company called Good Karma Broadcasting will take it over and move ESPN 1510 to the 540 frequecy. That means that the Christian station will go all sports. It is unknown yet what will happen with 1510, but the reason this was done is that the 1510 licence is a day time only station. Now, with them moving over to 540, they can be on 24 hours a day 7 days a week. And thankfully, many of the 540 programs will turn up at our other Christian station Joy 1340. But, it is sad to see 540, which has always had some type of Christian programming, be gone. They have also, throughout the years, had cultural programs as well. They were the first station I ever heard on the radio as a kid listening to polka and German music programs. It is just sad to see this era in Milwaukee radio end. However, even sader regards the other station Salem owns in Milwaukee. It is a contemporary Christian music station called 105.3 The Fish. Next week, I guess the day after Valentine's Day, a company called EMF Broadcasting will be taking it over. Thankfully, this company runs a Christian Music format similar to The Fish, but it will no longer be a locally run station. The new station is called K Love. You can hear their stream on their site, which is exactly what all the K Love Stations are getting all around the country. So, a lot of local people will be looking for new jobs, and there won't be a local station to promote Christian concerts and events. I did talk to the Fish's Program Director and morning host yesterday, who seems to be in good spirits cnsidering everything. He said that he will just wait to see what God has in store for him. So, the next two weeks will be hard, as we watch these two stations become just fond memories.

And, thinking about that AM station going All Sports, I won't be listening to them tomorrow as they talk all about the Superbowl! I'll probably reluctantly watch the game, but that Packer loss was a hard one to swallow! I guess we'll have to wait till next year!

But, before I watch the Superbowl, I will get to enjoy my Christmas present. This Christmas, my Mom bought two tickets for she and myself to see The Lion King. I can't wait to see it, but the sad thing is that this week, my Mom got a pinched nerve in her thy, so she can hardly move. She thinks she got it when she picked up my nephew, Jacob, while babysitting. So, I really feel bad that she will have to miss it, as she was really looking forward to going. But, my older sister, Katie, will take me in her place. It should really be fun, and I will definitely let everyone know what I think of it.

So, I hope all is well with my LJ Friends, and I'll type more later. Take care.
